Our Mission: Hudson Valley Seed educates children in school gardens, empowering students through curriculum-integrated lessons focused on healthy eating, food literacy, outdoor learning and academic success. To learn more about our mission statement click HERE.
Our Method: Most of our students visit their school garden for an hour every week with their HVS educator. This is only possible because of Hudson Valley Seed's lesson alignment to New York State's Common Core Curriculum. Our Measures: Measuring our impact ensures that we continue improving our lessons year after year and also allows us to see the other types of learning our students are experiencing. Hudson Valley Seed uses pre and post surveys, cafeteria taste tests, experiential project evaluations, garden journals and more to evaluate program success.
